Become a Volunteer for the Step Program
Are you an experienced dancer?

Stairway For Ballet welcomes experienced dancers who are interested in contributing their time and skills to expand access to ballet education for young students. Volunteers play a central role in the Step Program, working directly with children who may be encountering ballet for the first time.
Volunteer instructors are paired with students and provide weekly instruction during the program period. Volunteers are expected to:

Communicate in advance regarding availability or scheduling changes

Approach instruction with consistency, responsibility, and care
Given the program’s focus on access and mentorship, reliability and commitment are essential. Many participating students have limited prior exposure to ballet and rely on volunteers for a positive and formative learning experience.
Prospective volunteers are asked to complete an application form. Applicants who meet program criteria will be invited to an interview to ensure alignment with the Step Program’s educational goals and values. Additional expectations and support structures are discussed during onboarding.
